Our training is delivered through a flexible, workplace-based model
designed to suit busy lifestyles and real job settings. There are no set classrooms and no block training. Students complete their theory through flexible learning and undertake practical training and assessment on the job.

Funding options
The Queensland Government contributes to the cost of training and assessment for eligible Queensland apprentices and trainees. Through the Career Start program, a government contribution may
apply towards the cost of training. Apprentices and trainees are usually required to pay a
co-contribution fee, while partial or full fee exemptions may apply in some circumstances.

School-Based Career Start
Queensland Government funding may contribute towards the cost of training and assessment
for eligible school-based apprentices.
Career Start Apprenticeship Funding Eligibility

Be enrolled in Year 10, 11 or 12 at a Queensland school.

Not be currently enrolled in any other qualification, apprenticeship or traineeship funded by the Department.

Not have exhausted their funding entitlement: Students will be funded for a maximum of one (1) school-based apprenticeship or traineeship.
Note: A student may complete a VETiS-fundedqualification prior to commencing a SAT.

Have a training contract for a Department-funded qualification registered on the Department's apprenticeship and traineeship database.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Have your existing carpentry skills, knowledge and industry experience assessed towards CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry.
YEARS ON-SITE INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
Designed for experienced carpentry workers
Applicants should have at least four years of on-site industry experience and be able to demonstrate their existing carpentry skills and knowledge.
